I Dare You
Yes, this is the place where Dreams are Big. Bold. Achievable. Make those dreams happen, folks.
Let’s talk about January, shall we? That magical month when we’re all sparkly-eyed optimists clutching our fresh planners and promising ourselves THIS is the year we finally become yoga people, or sourdough people, or people who actually floss daily. (Revolutionary, I know.)
We kick off January like we’re starring in our own personal montage scene. Cue the inspirational music! We’ve got vision boards! We’ve got color-coded spreadsheets! We’re READY.
But plot twist: more than 90 percent of New Year’s resolutions are forgotten, and almost half don’t make it past January. By Valentine’s Day, those ditched resolutions (once enthusiastic dreams) mean there are stacks of uncracked books judging us from the nightstand, art supplies having a sad little party in a drawer, and brand-new running shoes developing relationships with dust bunnies in the closet. That guitar? Silent witness to our broken promises. The journal? More blank than a poker face. The gym membership? Just an expensive way to feel bad about ourselves once a month.
So, what’s the deal? Why do we keep ghosting our own dreams?
Norman Vincent Peale said it best: “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.”
Don’t think about maybe shooting for the moon eventually when Mercury’s out of retrograde and you’ve found the perfect outfit.
So, here’s my question for you: will I find you among the stars or will we meet on the moon?
Because the only difference between those two places is actually launching yourself into space instead of just admiring rocket ships from your couch.
Make those dreams happen, folks. Right now. In your pajamas, if necessary.
It's Fall, Y'all!
