It’s Fall, Y’all!
If you’re like me, you’re wondering where did summer go?
I can’t explain it better than Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde: “And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.”
Now it’s time for a touch of pumpkin spice, and vistas bursting with brushstrokes of red, orange, and gold that take your breath away. A nip in the air means it’s time for a cozy sweater, and the rustling of fallen leaves underfoot signals a colorful path is ahead.
You don’t have to be a writer to embrace the wonders of a new seasonal landscape. Enjoy fall, ya’ll!
What I’m Reading
Susan Carlisle’s Falling for the Trauma Doc
Falling for the Trauma Doc is the first book in the Kentucky Derby Medics series and highlights Churchill Downs, the landmark home of the derby. It’s the story of Callee and Langston and their chemistry leaps off the page.
You can count on Susan to deliver touching stories of relatable characters who overcome obstacles to follow their hearts. Not only is Susan an acclaimed, award-winning author, but she also has a genuine caring heart for the newest of friends and long-treasured ones.
She is passionate about organ donation and Nick’s New Heart 30 Years and Counting is the amazing nonfiction story of her son and the doctors, nurses, friends, and family whose unshakable strength helped Nick not only survive but thrive.
I’m excited to read Susan’s newest Harlequin Medical Romance to be released September 24, 2024. It has an unbeatable combination: a hero with Irish charisma, horses, the Kentucky Derby, and a captivating romance.
An Irish Vet in Kentucky is the second book in Susan’s Kentucky Derby Medics series and features an Irish vet (Conor) who moves to Kentucky to work with a horse entered in the derby. Conor still suffers from the immeasurable loss of his wife and unborn child. Equine trainer Christina is reeling from damage to her professional reputation by her ex. They both have healing to do, and Conor and Christina are fortunately trusted to Susan’s talented, compassionate touch.
